Where and when
Youth rehearsals run from 5 to 7pm at UTS Building 5 (Building 05/05D), 1 Quay Street, Haymarket. For directions, transport, parking and entry, see the Rehearsal & Audition Location Guide.
Signing in
When your child arrives, they check in at the attendance desk, run by our Home Team, by scanning their Digital Pass. The Home Team marks the roll so we always know exactly who is in the room. If a pass will not scan, the Home Team will sign your child in by hand.
If your child’s Digital Pass is not set up yet, see the Digital Pass Guide.
How we supervise
Rehearsals run under our two-adult rule: named Home Team leaders supervise alongside the conductor, and no child is ever alone, out of sight, with a single adult. This follows our Child Safety Policy and is simply how we keep every young person safe.
Staying or leaving
You are welcome to drop your child off and leave, or to stay nearby. If you leave, please stay contactable by phone for the whole 5 to 7pm window and be able to return promptly if we need you. Keep your phone on and with you.
Signing out and who may collect your child
At 7pm your child is signed out at the same desk. We release your child only to you or to an adult you have authorised to collect them. Please tell us in advance, by email to youth@australianchristianarts.com, who is allowed to collect your child, and let us know of any change.
If someone we do not recognise comes to collect your child, the Home Team will check who they are before releasing your child. It is the safest thing for your child, and we appreciate your understanding.
Older youth travelling on their own
With your written permission, an under-18 may travel to and from rehearsal on their own, for example by public transport. Just email youth@australianchristianarts.com to let us know this is your arrangement. Without that permission, we release your child only to an authorised adult.
If you are running late
Pick-up is from 7pm. If you have not arrived by 7.30pm, our late-collection process begins. Your child waits inside the venue with at least two Home Team members, never alone and never outside, while we phone you and then your emergency contact until your child is safely collected.
If you know you are going to be late, a quick text to 0489 991 212 helps us reassure your child.
Your child’s safety is not an add-on for us. It is part of how we honour every young person and family in our care.
