Be reachable during rehearsal
During the 5 to 7pm rehearsal you are welcome to stay nearby or to drop off and leave. If you leave, please stay contactable by phone the whole time and be able to come back quickly if we call. See Drop-off, Pick-up & Supervision for how sign-in, sign-out and collection work.
Getting your child there and back
Sign your child in and out at the attendance desk, tell us in advance who may collect your child (email youth@australianchristianarts.com), and let us know if your child has your permission to travel on their own. The drop-off and pick-up page has the detail.
At rehearsals and concerts
A few gentle norms keep the room focused and safe:
- Let the conductor and Home Team lead the room. During rehearsal, please wait outside the rehearsal space unless you are invited in, so the young people can give it their full attention.
- Treat leaders, members and other families with the same warmth and respect we ask of everyone. Our Member Code of Conduct sets the tone.
- At concerts, please follow the venue and Home Team directions about seating, entry and exits.
Photos and video
You are very welcome to photograph or film your own child for your own keepsakes. Please do not post images that clearly show other people’s children on social media without their family’s consent. AChA’s own photos and video are taken only by specific authorised people and are covered by the Talent Release and Performance Consent you agree to at sign-up.
Talking with us
Heartbeat is our home base for youth program updates (heartbeat.australianchristianarts.com, or the app). For anything about your child specifically, email youth@australianchristianarts.com. For general questions, email support@australianchristianarts.com. On rehearsal day, a quick text to 0489 991 212 reaches us.
Please keep youth communication to these official channels. Our leaders will not contact young people privately, and we ask families to reach us the same way.
Volunteering
Parents are warmly welcome to help. If you would like to volunteer, email youth@australianchristianarts.com. Because any volunteer role that involves children counts as child-related work, parent volunteers need a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) before they start. If you are only coming to watch your own child, you do not need a WWCC for that.
Thank you
Thank you for trusting us with your child. We do not take it lightly. Your part is small but it matters: be reachable, tell us who may collect your child, keep us in the loop, and let the young people shine. We will take care of the rest.
