Home Team Welcome & Farewell

You create a warm, calm & pastoral first impression that sets the tone for the night, & you see people out warmly at the end.

Your times

  • Team: 1 to 2 people
  • Welcome: 6:15pm, 30 minutes before doors open, until 7:25pm, 10 minutes after rehearsal starts
  • Farewell: 9:15pm, until 9:30pm, as rehearsal ends

On a youth night: welcome 4:30pm to 5:40pm; farewell 7:30pm to 7:45pm. Youth rehearsals run 5:30pm to 7:30pm, so every time moves 1 hour 45 minutes earlier.

As people arrive

  • Greet everyone warmly at the main entry point.
  • Give people their first directions.
  • Model friendliness, clarity & confidence.
  • Be the visible face of the night.
  • Support the ushers & check-in when they need a hand.

End of the night

  • Be at the door as rehearsal ends & see people out warmly.

Who to ask

Anything unclear on the night, ask the Home Team Leader. They run the roster & can tell you where you’re needed.

Every Home Team role is described on the Home Team Roles & Guide.
